 "if u don't talk money,omo don't show up, if u don't drive cars, omo don't show up,cos she's all about d money........"dat was wizkid on "fast money,fast cars" on m.i's debut "talk about it", it's coming back to u now shey? well evidently wizkid has been doing his singing thing for a while, so despite his age i think experience can't be used as a factor against him, over the years we've watched/heard him grow into a mega star. Dubbed "young fela", d EME artist wins the crowd on every track he sings on, from features to singles. with a cute face dat has evry gidi girl hollaing at ur boy here, dere's definitely no dulling, n i'm sure guyz would definitely buy his album when it comes out,if not for the music den like drake said "u can buy it n claim u bought it for ur sista". wizkid has been rocking almost all d shows dis christmas season, just to show u d demand for d kid.wizkid surely won't dull us in 2011, as i'm sure his album would be out soonest.

 Every artists dream is to get that hit single dat'll push his/her album to platinum status, well ice prince is living dat dream right now, with his smashing hit single "oleku" which has been dubbed as the "most jumped on song" of the year. But we can't deny ice prince skills on the mic, we've heard him drop murderous verse after verse on all the tracks he has been on, from "nobody test me","overkillin" and "represent". ice prince has been on so many tracks dis year dat he could make two albums from d list. i think it's safe to say that 2011 won't be complete if we don't lay our hands on ice princes' album.checkout some of his singles before oleku

FRESHMAN YEAR-TEETO CEEMOS

 The first time i saw/heard teeto was when i was watching the sprite/channel O Emcee africa competition a few years back, i watched dis guy take out mad opponents in a freestyle battle, of course he came out top and represented naija in the finals, but sadly didn't win the overall competition. then u probably heard him first on the knighthouse hit "won berri" with saucekid and mo'cheddah. since then he has released a hit single "oshamo" worked with a lot of artists n released a mixtape "THE FRESHNESS",so off the top or written dis guy is the best there is/the message is/he's set so he's respected in dis rap biz  (dat was me tryin to do a lil freestyle of my own). To find a battle emcee who puts out good music is very rare, in fact almost impossible in hip-hop, so believe me when i say he's a very rare breed and one u should definitely watch out for in 2011

 I honestly expected d'princes' debut album dis year, after hearing his first 3 singles "ooze", "omoba" and "i like wat i see", i was convinced he wasn't just don jazzy's younger bro and he really had talent too. (music is in da blood, lol). But i guess some of y'all needed more proof, so he recorded a banger without don jazzy, "jonzing world", i played dat song for weeks. "give it to me" was released towards the later part of the year and with a cool video to assist. I'm sure y'all are now as impatient as i am to buy d'princes' debut album.

You probably first heard skales on his single "heading for a grammy" and u probably said to urself "d kid's good", yeah he probably is, cos he got signed up by banky w's EME label, since then d kid has been doin his thing, laying verse after verse on different tracks, having worked with artists like samklef, laylow, leo wonder, and christine ben. He's one to look out for in 2011. And i say kid cos by the time his debut drops, he'll probably be 19.

Yes, dis is dat chic from cartiair's "owo ati swagger(remix), her name's eva alordiah, hello dear. i've answered ur question right??? well, eva is hot! but she's also a talented rapper too, beauty and brains, wow, she's definitely a keeper, well for those of u who can't get her, i'm sure u'll be compensated with her music, eva's been on her grind for a while now, she's putting in work and is gradually getting the recognition she deserves, i'm pretty sure 2011 is gon be a good year for her, she's currently working on her EP titled "GIGO",we'll be on the look out for that. she recently released a single "DOWN LOW" feat shank.

Spotlight-Show Dem Camp

For real naija hip hop heads out there i'm sure u've always wanted a naija version of hi-tek or sumthin like dat, well meet talib kwali and mosdef sorry i meant GHOST and TECH, the two-man crew that is "SHOW DEM CAMP" allow dese guys take u thru ur first course, "hip hop 101", theres just sumthin distinct about dese guyz, dey keep it real on the naija level and still have that freshness of the west. Heard show dem camp was known as "blackboydown" back in uk,but we here on the streetz don't really care about the past, the future for SDC is their soon to be released "clone wars mixtape" and "the dreamer project album", yes, a mixtape and an album almost concurrently. I've heard a couple of joints from dese guyz and i tell u, we're all in for some good music from them. they're working with the likes of m.i, tuface, nneka, lynxx and ikon, so i need not say more.
one of their joints i really feel is the ikon produced "alpha kenny body" (say the song title fast like 5 times in a row................................na u talk am oh)

Diamond in the Ruff

Just when we were thinking warri could only produce good comedians, yung six comes with his own version of ice prince’s monster hit “oleku”, tagged  the “warri version”, now u might have heard dis song and prolly laffed cos of the chorus, well u need to listen to the track again, have u? if u really listen to yung six’s verse u’ll realize y he made our ‘diamond in the ruff” column. The kid is good, with a carefree like delivery, he drops heavy  punch line after punch line, proving that warri can indeed produce dope rappers too. A look at yung six past shows he’s not new to the rap game, heard he’s called “king of the south” in some circles, but enuf of his past, word on the streetz is dat chocolate city wants to sign the kid up, just imagine wat type of rapper he’ll turn out to be if he’s taken under the wings of m.i, jesse and ice prince or should I say when he becomes a choc boy. Well if choc city should dull on dis, I’m sure a lot of other record companies will be eagerly waiting. Yung six u have the right to feel cocky based on one side, southshout to u bruv, big ups.

1. B.A.N.S (Intro)

“Things just ain’t the same for rappers” well if u ever doubted terry, dis “boyz are not smiling” track eliminates all doubts, sick beat, effortless flow from terry, crazy punch lines
“everybody saying he should be the real king of rap/but he don’t want it, he feels he’s too big for dat”

2. Sample feat Pherowshuz and Stereoman
This was the first single of the album, been out since last year, dis song isn’t one of my favorites and pherowshuz verse didn’t help matters at all, catchy tune though, and the track bagged an award at the last HHWA

3. How far? Feat Sound Sultan
definitely my favorite track of d album, simple truth is, e-twins made a dope track, terry invited sound sultan to murder it with him, dis track relates to all hustlers out there.
“isi ewu, pepper soup, suya for all my friends/I fit dey broke tomorrow but tonight I want to spend/blow all my salary/dis na the mentality/wey we dey use everyday to escape reality”

4. Oti ya were feat M.I
when 2 of naijas dopest Mcs come together to make/murder a track the result is oti ya were, with a  nice catchy hook, it’s a track dat u def want to bump in ur car with the speakers on max

5. Ojoro feat terry G
dis track has terry g all over it, the beat, the chorus, d madness!!! For all dose guyz out dere who dey don MAGA before, terry relates wit u on dis one

6. Gonna make it
“it’s showtime let the games begin/damn I hate to lose so I play to win/state of emergency is the state I’m in/I plan to kill shows in every state I’m in”
u know dos days when u need music to ginger u to get thru a situation, dis is dat track

7. Boyz don hammer
catchy tune, don’t really have an opinion on dis

8. Get up feat Mo’cheddah
don’t u just love mo’ cheddah, well I do, and I think she added dat extra spice to dis track, “jor-oh” and she raps on it too*very cute*. Very lovely song u can bump at a party or dance to
“so I show finesse/wit no b.s”- mo’cheddah

9. Ladies only
Hmmm, don’t really  have an opinion on dis track, depending on d mood, u may wish to skip it

10. Superstar feat cartiair
terry teams up with cartiair on dis one, has dat crunk rock vibe. Dope track

11. No love
very cool song, where terry talks about the ups and downs of his career.
“no love in the heart of the city/nodoby dey progress cos everybody’s greedy”

12. Someday
A beautiful tribute to his mother, we say Rest in peace to a wonderful woman who birthed such a gifted emcee. We pray for u

13. Pray feat kefee
nice track, terry addresses issues facing our beloved naija, from police injustice to corruption in our government. Kefee does a nice job on the chorus

14. Been there before
“hated by plenty/wanted by many/underrated by some/confronted by none”. Terry reminds us why he’s respected on d naija hip-hop scene

15. Na beans? Remix feat fecko tha emcee, miekharry and osagz
terry featured some upcoming emcees on dis one, d remix of his hit single from his last album, none of these new emcees really stood out for me, dey a coupe of average punch lines
“I burst 16 like a sex offender/stay grinding hard like electric blender”

16. Number 10 feat six foot plus, mista baron and el dee XL
terry teams up with his former team mates from SWATROOT, at least we get to hear six foot plus  rhyme again, using samples from fugees “fugeela”, it’s a good thing it’s d last track on the album
